Overcoming the Fear of Public Speaking

A research carried out in North America shows that most people fear public speaking more than death. Fear of speaking is not insurmountable. We developed the fear in the first place because of the information we fed our minds with. As much as we want to believe that we are independent and that we determine our own courses of action, the way we see ourselves is actually influenced by some factors:

    1. Other people’s experiences.
    2. What people say to us, and
    3. What we think people think about us

Fear is learned and we must unlearn it by substituting it with confidence.

Please share with us how you overcame your fear of speaking in public. You may also ask questions on how to manage your own fears.

This is usually a major challenge at the start for many but the resilient ones end up becoming ‘winners’

A lot of people worry about what others would say about them so they fail to speak out.

    You are right about that.
